Good Evening. I'm Allison McNair, host of New Hampshire Outlook. For the next hour, candidates in the Second Congressional District will focus their attention on the New Hampshire economy. Our thanks to President Ann Weaver Hart of the University of New Hampshire, and Steve Bolander, Dean of the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, and the people at the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire for making tonight's forum possible. The candidates from Congressional District 2 are: Republican Incumbent Charles Bass, Democrat Katrina Swett and Libertarian, Rosalie Babiarz. The panelists were chosen from UNH Faculty, students and the New Hampshire Business Community. They are: Brett St. Clair, Vice President Marketing and Communication of the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire Richard England, UNH Professor of Economics, Anna Mishin, Whittemore School of Business and Economics Senior, and Tony Smith, UNH Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance. The format is designed to encourage discussion. The candidates have all been briefed on the guidelines. Each panelist will ask a question of all the candidates. Each will have about 45-seconds to respond. The panelist may also ask a follow-up question. Audience members have also submitted questions and I'll be reading those at various points throughout the program. And to our audience, we ask that you please remain seated throughout the presentation and refrain from applause or other comments during the program. A draw determined that would answer the first question. |
